Matthew 5
An intro of sorts:
These verses speak of going one step beyond what’s expected. Some examples include loving your enemy AND praying for them. Or to not refuse the one who would borrow from you.
It quickly becomes overwhelming.
So what now; how are we to take on more? Perhaps you already loan money to a handful of people. Or maybe you are sponsoring a child in another country. Now what? According to Matthew 5, are we not doing enough?

What NOT to do:
Pile more on your already full plate in hopes of expanding your kingdom.
What TO do:
Prayerfully bring YOUR to-do list before God. Ask if your list, your priorities, line up with His list for you and HIS Kingdom.
What this means:
Saying no is an option.
Accepting that some people will chastise you for differing priorities.
Saying goodbye to long-standing priorities.
That more often than not you’ll be involved in a life that’s uncomfortable.
Simplicity.

"Accepting that some people will chastise you for differing priorities."
I find this to be very common in so many areas. Foster kids are the most important! Homeless people are the most important! Child Sponsorship is the most important! Sex Slavery is the most important! The list goes on and on….
All are incredibly awesome things and they are top priority for God, but there is nothing wrong with having a passion in ministry area that may not be aligned with everyone else's. I just wish people's passions wouldn't develop into judgment and hostility to those who do not share the same priorities/views.
