Yesterday, the entire House Studio staff (yeah, all four of us) had the great privilege of meeting with the Jesus Film Harvest Partners group. I won’t go into the purpose of the meetings, as it may not be of interest to you.
No, what I’d like to mention is the nice big piece of humble pie, the kick to the gut I was served.
What does JFHP do?
Equip and support ministry teams of local people to use the JESUS Film to grow existing churches, re-open closed churches, and start new churches. The film teams work with local and district leaders to reach and disciple people who need to know Jesus.
The description above doesn’t do JFHP justice. In fact, much of the work JFHP does cannot be shared because it involves working in creative access countries.
Yesterday, we were told the story of ______ who died in ______ because he refused to ______. Another story was shared of the believers in the country of ______ (where most are illiterate) who are coming to Christ so quickly they expect 1 million followers in the next 10 years!
Yesterday, my life was not threatened.
Yesterday, I failed to open the Bible I’m allowed to own.
Yesterday was a kick in the gut.

I appreciate the message in your post, Scott. Definitely something to think about. But I have to admit, I couldn't help but wonder if that is a giant etch-a-sketch in the photo?
Wow. It definitely puts things into perspective. Thanks, Scott. I really needed that today.
During the Tennessee District Assembly, Dr. Jesse C. Middendorf, got a message on his phone. He relayed that message to all of us in attendance: a Nazarene pastor was martyred for planting a church to replace one that was burned down. Humbling that someone chose Christ over another day on the planet – I pray that I never have to face that choice, and am thankful that I haven't thus far.
Thanks, Scott, for your frankness in your post. So humbling and convicting for me, especially those last three statements.
JFHP is something everyone, who cannot go to the mission fields or does not have the call for such; should be involved in financially. I recently attended a JFHP dinner and was moved by the testimony of one of the staffers, not to mention the video. My kick in the gut came that night. My wife and I are now involved, and the church I pastor is raising money as well. Thanks Scott for sharing.
lol @ etch-a-sketch. It actually looks like an inflatable screen!
We are much blessed in the western church with freedom and riches. What we do with that is much more important than we often realize.
Recently The Jesus Film organization announced that 10 million people have become disciples of Jesus Christ through the showing of the Jesus Film.
